Budget: The total amount of money allocated for
a specific purpose during a specified period
Free movement: Legal permission for goods, capital,
services, or workers to leave one country and enter another country without
extra taxes, legal documents, official limits
Cohesion: The act or state of cohering; tendency
to unite
Common market: Group formed by countries within a
geographical area to promote duty free trade and free movement of labor and
capital among its members
Fragmentation: A piece broken off or detached
Development: A fact, event, or happening, esp. one
that changes a situation
Funds: Money that is readily available
Heterogeneity: Composed of unrelated or differing parts
or elements
Homogeneous: Composed of similar or identical parts
or elements
Investment: The act of investing money
Monetary union: Of or relating to money or currency
Ombudsman: An official, without power of sanction
or mechanism of appeal, who investigates complaints of maladministration by
members of the public against national or local government or its servants
Outsourcing: To subcontract (work) to another company
Self-sufficient: Able to provide for or support oneself
without the help of others
Solidarity: Unity of interests or sympathies as
among members of the same class
Citizenship: The condition or status of a citizen,
with its rights and duties
Duty: A task or action that a person is bound
to perform for moral or legal reasons
Skeptical: Not convinced that something is true;
doubtful
Seafaring: The act of travelling by sea
Outskirts: Outlying or bordering areas as of a city
Profitable: Affording gain
Hierarchy: A system of persons or things arranged
in a graded order
GDP: Gross domestic product
CAP: Common Agricultural Policy
CFP: Certified Financial Planning Board of

Subsidy: A financial grant made originally for
special purposes by Parliament to the Crown
Treaty: A formal agreement or contract between
two or more states, such as an alliance or trade arrangement
Surplus: A quantity or amount in excess of what
is required
Motorway: A main road for fast-moving traffic,
having limited access, separate carriageways for vehicles travelling in
opposite directions, and usually a total of four or six lanes
Highway: A public road that all may use
